What do I need to do if I am moving to Reinbeck. |
You need to stop at city hall and sign up for your municipal services. This includes water, sewer, and garbage for the city and phone, cable TV and internet for the Reinbeck Telecommunication Utility. A $75.00 deposit is required before your water can be turned on. This all can be taken care of with one stop at city hall. |

Can I pay my bill by credit card. |
We cannot accept credit or debit cards for a utility payment. We can set up automatic withdrawal for all your services. |
Why do I have to buy city garbage bags. |
The DNR requires cities to reduce garbage taken to the landfill. One method is called per unit pricing. This requires people to pay more for their garbage if they have more garbage vs. a flat rate for everyone. This should encourage
recycling which will reduce garbage at the landfill. |

Why is my water bill so high? |
Extensive testing has proven that water meters can not run high, only low. So a high water bill is the sign of a water leak somewhere in the house. The most common problem is a stool that leaks. If you experience a high water bill and the reason it is not immediately apparent, call city hall to have your meter reread to be sure it was not just a recording error. If it is not, then you should call a professional plumber to locate the problem. |

My water bill is the same as last months. |
The City of Reinbeck only
reads meters every other month. We then divide the total by two and charge equal amounts each month. Your city bill should always be the same two months in a row. |
